squarepusher what is it with all the crowd noise

i always wondered what was up with including random crowd noises on ultravisitor. and then some on solo electric bass 1, which made a bit more sense.

now i'm listening to cooper's world and theres that crowd noise near the end during the breakdown.

I've always thought Ultravisitor was particularly strange, because he mixes live performances, studio recordings, and computer-music in the same album, and the transitions between these styles are often within the songs. It's kinda like he's trying to make the ultimate mixed album, showing off everything he's capable of.

didn't he use the crowd noise/cheering in Ultravisitor because that would be a statement to people who think his music is unlistenable and wouldn't think that nobody could ever appreciate it? Or something.

that's a corny concept, but i guess it's cool when he does it....

you bloats, the purpose I thought the crowd noises served was adding the immersion that the sounds / instruments were being performed live all somehow by Tom Jenkinson. It's a great album to visualize to.

Fucking lol. I'd love to make some hardcore gabber track and whack some recordings of the audience applauding at concert halls or something.

Did he tour ultravisitor tracks anyway before the release of the album?
