I had ludicrously oversized lol at that. So true. How we could veer from such chronic whimsical tat to You Never Give Me Your Money and Helter Skelter I don't know.

Agreed with everything you said about Rain as well, one of those b-sides that really would have sat just as well on Revolver. And Primal Scream nicked that bassline for Burning Wheel.

I think some of his later stuff was 'granny music' as Lennon rightfully said, but some of it isn't that bad. I quite like the stuff like Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight, admittedly.
