i think they've always been hip (duh) and on the cutting-edge, so to speak, of the whole hip hop and rap thing. their move to working with mixmaster mike for hello nasty was pretty futuristic, and not in a lame, "we're on some future shit" while sounding the same-type kick...

and i know 'to the five boroughs' didn't get much love, but while being a throwback album in some senses, which was voiced here and i agree with, it was ahead of the game in ways as well. this is one of my favorite tracks on the album:

This Album is good. Way better than I've had expected. And my expectations were high. Preordered the Wax.

I have always been a massive Beastie fan (who isn't?!), but I have ignored this release as I am scared it would be a bit ridiculous, a bit of a pantomime.

Maybe I'll have a listen today as my right honourable friends at Watmm say it rocks.

This new album is the best I have heard since Hello Nasty and I loved the shit out of that. Gonna be rocking this in the Spanish sunshine thats for sure.
