In the future...

The idea here is to make some kind of prediction about technology/society. "The future" being the next 20 years or so.

I'll go first.

In the future... Driving a gas-powered car will be looked down on with the same level of disgust as cigarette smoking.

in the future humankind will wipe itself out.

In the future, augmented reality will be a part of your daily life. You'll use it as much as you use the internet today, and feel just as cut off without it.

in the future all music will be made with genetically-modified, cybernetically-enhanced, electro-acoustic synth-iguanas and battery-powered sequencer-pigeons.

also $30 casios will rise in value to nearly $47!

In the future, the generation gap is wider than ever. The youth are plugged in deep, simultaneously communicating on multiple channels in languages you can't decipher, utilizing technologies you can't comprehend.

zombie chic will be the new fad among hipsters.

A social revolution will take place in America leaving badgers and weasels in command...

In the future, science has solved most health problems. Doctors, facing increasing irrelevance, try to reverse the trend by promoting a new kind of diet...

in 20 years people will never have to be subjected to any sort of environmental conditions against their own will. Snow, Rain, Ice, Heat, Cold, Insects, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Fires, blah blah blah. There will be a complete fix-all for houses and personal transportation that will prevent any of that stuff from affecting us.
