i thought you could mix whatever music you wanted... like a dj. it now seems that this is just gonna be guitar hero with a little spinny disc peripheral instead of a guitar.

also, the scratching in the trailer sounds really, really awful.

LOL, nobody's claiming in this thread that this game will be any good...

why not just call it Top 40 Hero, fucks sake. they should just give DP their own game not this shit.

Well they clearly want to appeal to a big audience. Don't expect that ultra limited Underground Resistance 12" from 94 to make an apperance!

There should be an IDM Hero with a version of dbGlitch and a faux MIDI controller

Edited by Solo Strike

Scratch looks much better... all real hip-hop... not crappy top 40 mash-ups. and the scratching is freeform, not scripted.

also, the controller is much better and made by Numark, which MPC style pads.

I look forward to hooking this up to MIDIYoke and using as a controller.

i agree the Numark controller looks way better, but that setlist is too confining. i thought the idea of these games was to draw in hip hop AND dance fans, not just thugs who wanna be gangstas. hopefully, both games will have some good DLC that will expand their appeal. i can't believe DJ Hero hasn't made exclusive deals with some of the bigger dance labels, there are a lot of recognizable tracks from the last 20 yrs with street cred that were also decent hits.

Positive Metal Attitude

i never liked guitar hero, ya know why?

CUZ I NEVER LIKED DANCE DANCE REVALUATION!

this is all that shit is, DDR for the fucking fingers

Guitar Hero is like DDR - i.e.: patterns, whereas Rock Band's "notes" are set to the actual music notes as close as possible (depending on difficulty). I've heard most people who actually play an instrument prefer RB over GH due to this.
