WARP 20 (infinite) Features Exclusive New BoC

Note that the trackname (#23, ha) starts with "Sprio" or "Spira"...

This 10"x2 vinyl is exclusive to the WARP 20 box set, and according to WARP:

"2 x 10” vinyl cuts of hand-picked locked-groove loops from Warp tracks. Four sides of loops for mixing fun. Exclusive to Warp20 (Box Set) and housed in uncoated card sleeves with debossed covers."

So, this is not a track per-se, but a loop of some sort - note it also features Telephasic Workshop, as well as "An Eagle In Your Mind".

UPDATE: the track is called "Spiro"(from a previously unreleased track) and all the loops on the disc are 1.8 seconds long @ 33rpm.

Over four years have elapsed since their last album and not only do we get an "unreleased" track thats been out before, but also a loop of new music lasting 1.8 seconds.

Knew the boys wouldn't disappoint.

to be honest though, considering that they're still supposed to be in the process of compiling and releasing a box set of the older unheard tracks, they didn't really need to let anything come through on this boxset.

how can all of the loops be 1.8 seconds long? wouldn't they get shorter towards the middle of the record?

the loops go in the locked groove at the end of the vinyl.

not really a loop if it only plays once.

plus, it takes 1.8 seconds for vinyl to do 1 rev, regardless of whether it's the outer edge or the inner.

i don't get it! technically a locked groove on the outside edge would be considerably longer than one on the inside, or am i missing something?

i read on twoism boards that it's a Clark track, i wouldn't know personally though

i don't think it's really meant to be there for any particular use other than as a curiosity, for the collection factor and just to give some kind of extra incentive to go for the box set instead of the individual CD / Digital releases. i mean, what use was a kaleidoscope?

I have a vinyl by STL with a few locked grooves at the end. Yeah they're about a second or two long, but sound like a normal minimal / deep house track if you let it play for 30 seconds or so.

I think there'd be no problem recognising it if it's from something we know already (as these 1.8 seconds would be looped in the track we know also) If that makes sense.

totally agreed - anyone who buys this boxset for just one or two tracks is stupid and has too much money on their hands. a slight argument that's happened elsewhere on the internets....this boxset is more than just the music.

ah, right - I forgot about each track being lock-grooved, so it would play over and over, thus creating the loop and making something somewhat listenable.
