Been getting back into ambient, and looking for more stuff in this field. Especially in the vein of Steve Roach, Oöphoi, Alio Die, Tetsu Inoue. Ambient with a more "etheric" feeling if you want. Any suggestions?

Tim Hecker, Kluster, Fennesz, Klaus Shulze....

i'm not huge into the genre but one that has been overlooked is Fennesz

yeah i was going to say, it was already mentioned in the thread and in general watmm seems to have a huge Fennesz hardon. he is the most mentioned ambient act on this forum besides brian eno.

I cannot recommend the album tsotsitaal by Ten and Tracer enough. It's one of the best ambient albums I've ever heard, and it's definitely one of my favourites from this year. I was put onto it by Helios, who mentioned it on his myspace.

It's available for free download here, though you can also donate if you so wish.

they have some beaty trancey stuff and some ambient droney stuff. its all good imo

kind of reminds me of mixtures between tim hecker/ac/and maybe some six organs with the droney guitar stuff. really good to zone out or fall asleep to.
