i'm not going to play online until they patch the netcode - I had to play 30 online matches for one of the trophy requirements, and there were a LOT of people playing cheap/exploiting the lag out there...

You can get some pretty good matches in the rooms. Just look for rooms with 4 or 5 bars.

- Signal strength bars – The update will improve the signal strength bar to reflect connection quality more accurately.

- Chance to cancel match - The update will allow players to cancel the match before it begins after displaying the opponents signal strength.

Have you figured out how to apply your customized character costumes to 2P (when playing in a versus match)? Tekken 5 did this (you could load player data for 1P and 2P), and also how to get the controller settings to stay for 2P (we have to set it every time we play a versus game initially)? I haven't bothered searching yet for the answer, but thought you'd know offhand...

There is another patch coming in December or January that might fix stuff like this.

There is another patch coming in December or January that might fix stuff like this.

So you're experiencing this too? Glad it's not just me!

Patch is out. It's a changed game. You can block things that used to be unblockable because of the lag. Sidestepping is actually viable, now. You can punish strings and whiffs. Great patch.

Yeah, too bad the lag in our match was so bad... I'm going to try and hardwire our net connection to the PS3, but I doubt it will make much difference.

my PS3's blueray drive just died after a firmware update, fucking new consumer hardware is so unreliable its depressing. doesnt even spin up when i put a new disc in. Sony claims they have 'no idea how it happened' even though i found this - http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/19807.cfm

i've been having really bad luck lately with entertainment products, i bought a macbookpro and out of the box it was defective and had to wait 4 months for a replacement

That's what I'm saying. I work in IT and the amount of times there's been updates, drivers or whatever that fucks shit up in one way or another.

I mean, my work phone is a Blackberry. I've updated the firmware about 8 times and every time guaranteed something will be improved but something else will get broken in some way. Technology eh?
