You're going to have to either explain what's really going on here or give me a valid reason to trust you. How do you know it has nothing to do with BoC? -IF- this is true, then what's with the nuclear blast image on warp? It has to all be related.

If 'New Clear Dawn' really was an album title it'd be one of the wankiest puns ever. Ash (hardly an imaginitive band) had a similarly crap idea years ago with Nu-Clear Sounds.

I really doubt this has anything to do with the next release.

I won't elaborate in much detail on this, but new clear dawn is definitely not related to boc. My bocpages are seen as the official unoffical source of information about boards of canada and that's why I take pride in having false information debunked. Obviously I can't do this on my own and that's why I'm in contact with people that do know. They are not giving me advance info about the new forthcoming album, but rather help me in debunking all the shit stories by all the trolls on either watmm and our own twoism messageboard. My sources have registered mail accounts @ official boards of canada domains. So their information can be trusted without any doubt.

I wanted NCD to be legit too, but unfortunately it is not. I have no interest in spreading false information. I want to keep bocpages as a valuable source of information.

i think new clear dawn would be a neat album title. and would love to see BoCs take on the 80s nuclear paranoia theme. whatever they do, i am sure i'll enjoy it whenever it's released.

Well I as a on-off fan would love to have ANY official news even in a small bone thrown to the fans that they are infact getting close or.. not close.. to a release. I sometimes like all this sneaking around and looking for patterns in the randomness, that is kind of what BoC is all about imho, taking it all in and experiencing reality in its raw seemingly euphoric awesomeness. But I do get sad when a 9 page thread just turns out to be some false lead :(

I want to do that after reading some of these nutcase posts. I'm starting to see why this subforum has the reputation of being related to a medieval torture dungeon, what with being agonizingly pestered by fanboys with flimsy personalities, and in all likelihood no life, no friends, but entirely intact virginity and a soft dominant hand with a firm grip.

These guys make music, and while it's good music, they are still guys that make music. I admit that the composition, technique, intrigue, and viral approach to marketing are a highly original blend of components that have been present for decades, but they aren't demi-gods. They drink beer playing drums and recorders around bonfires, ffs.

My last line about the god comment was in jest, of course. The way people talk about "them" around here though. That's not all the fan's fault though from what little I have read, it sounds like they like to keep us in this state of not knowing. Other artists do actually update their community and keep in contact. I don't know if they think some crazed fan's will stalker them if they actually communicated more, or if they just would like to be left alone in their music, that's all fine by me. But I do have to admit I have read quite a few threads over the year I have been reading the forum about "is this a real or a fake!" and again, that isn't necessarily the fan's fault, when the band themselves doesn't seem to be extremely forthright about what always is officially theirs and isn't. I am not saying I don't like the mystery aspect, I do like that, and I like some of their music a lot as well(yes I actually don't like some of their tracks, to much noise for me, but things like geogaddi and kid for today are gold). I am just saying you can't hold the fans solely responsible for the guessing game that seems to have this forum in a near constant state of... anarchy. But to be honest I think that's mostly because the rules are so incredibly lax compared to the other forums I hang out on. This thread would have been closed by the first page on the forum I visit because it wasn't "professional" enough and the "fear" people would flame and junk... But overall I see a civility after the calm of a small argument and that allows people to actually voice their views and then compare points of view, and overall I prefer this type of lax environment as long as everyone remains chill in the end as I have seen people be here. Gosh I don't know how this post got this long..

it really annoys me when people come up with these crazy in-depth bocspiracies and glowing, almost religious descriptions of their tracks and albums when really they're just a couple of dudes who happen to make really good music. they even said themselves they take a lot of it light heartedly and all the references to cults and stuff are more like in-jokes than prophecies from the gods or whatever batshit crazy stuff some people attribute it all to. it really takes away from the music and hurts my reputation as a fan. same goes for other WATMM related artists, but sadly, boc seem to be the target of the most fanboyism.

totally agree. correct me if i'm wrong, but BoC hasn't always done the "hidden meanings, cult references" bullshit have they? as far as i know, all that bollocks started with Geogaddi. and by the looks of it also ended there too.
