Buzz, how I love thee with your cables all so curvy...

nice! I was playing around with the new [blok] machine last night and noticed those curvy cables; i thought they only pertained to that machine... will try to update to latest build tonight!

I just started Buzz and all I get is a blank black screen.

You've either not selected a theme in the View->Themes menu (or using a theme incompatible with the new builds - does it reappear if you press CTRL+W ?), you haven't got the latest version of .net installed (i think the installer .exe generally installs it as default now) your graphic card drivers aren't up to date or the graphics card isn't compatible with new Buzz (unlikely seeing as my laptop graphics card is over 5 years old)

Its all about those donothing modules :)

Joe (the other guy from cubus) uses them all the time as a real low CPU usage alternative to using a gain/mixer. I on the other hand go to the other extreme and run things through multiple versions of ld mixer for my volume level changes ...

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

It sure is,

Check out the setup from one of our tracks from a few years ago - it's approaching probably 50 machines and there isn't any sound drop out at all (and my laptop is over 4 years old too).

I love my Buzz !

lollin at the "do nothing1", "do nothing2". i bet those are super demanding on the processor. but, in all seriousness, buzz is a cool program. i've played with it quite a bit and it's a relief to find it doesn't cause my computer to bug out quite like others can.

I love Buzz in all it's blocky glitchiness (actually, it's been much less glitchy with the new version, but still pleasingly blocky).

I thought I recognised your username, but for some reason it didn't click that you were the same Cryptowen from the ol' Buzz Church who organised that 'End of The World' compilation I did a track for. I'm an idiot !

Yes, I am indeed that very same Cryptowen. I've been browsing WATMM for a while now, but only recently got around to joining.

Yes, that worked. Been messing around with it for a while now. Buzz is actually pretty interesting; clumsy little thing, but it works. I just recorded my first track a few minutes ago. (Though I used VST's instead of machinesk)

woohoo build 1190 onwards now uses the new version of vc++ so is faster and a new version of .net so you don't go blind with the stupid anti-aliasing that microsoft imposed on the previous .net versions.

Aye, especially as there's been over 150 new Buzz builds (154 at time of writing) since this topic was made !

But yeah all progress is good, especially this which even Buzz don't have:

Yeah, buzz! I really like that program and I make music with it (and only with it) since 1999. You can listen to some of the tracks at www.myspace.com/tonfarben if you want.

I hate myspace, the next time I´ve got free time again (I´m very busy at work atm) I will switch to soundcloud and upload new tracks there.

Machines I found usefull for buzz:

Generators

FSM Infector

Climox 313

HD Percussive FM

Fuzzpilz Fudrum 3

Matilde Tracker 2

Effects

FSM Panzer Delay

every planet of the Joachim planet series (Neptune, Uranus and so on)

Joachim Channelstrip (neat one, like a channelstrip on a mxer, with eq, pan, and compressor/expander, I use it after every generator now)

Almost every peer machine (peer lfo, peer chord, peer ctrl and so on)

These are very stable with the new buzz builds in my humble opinion

For the ones who want to implement their VST´s in Buzz, get the PolacVST machines, they are stable wrappers, as I´ve read. But since I do not have any VSTI or VSTE, I don´t really care.

Rok On!
