Lol,

Also, out of curiosity, anyone know why the media player plays automatically? I seem to remember it didn't always do that.

I have a special playlist for the kind of mood requested by the OP:

Cocteau Twins - Lazy Calm

Marsen Jules - Oeillet En Delta

Lusine Icl - Without Standing

Markus Guentner - Untitled (1st track off In Moll)

Gas - Untitled (4th track off Pop)

Monolake - Mass Transit Railway

Biosphere - Sphere Of No-Form

Stars Of The Lid - Low Level (Listening)+ Part 3

Rameses III - Cloud Kings

The Orb - Falkenbrück

Lol Sphere Of No-Form is easily the most fucked up song on Substrata. Granted the last 2 minutes are pretty nice, but still.

Here's a list of some "blissful" albums (some individual tracks might not be):

Ulf Lohmann - Because Before

Tetsu Inoue - Inland

Sundog Peacehouse - Brosound

Steve Hillage - Rainbow Dome Musick

Markus Guentner - In Moll

Greg Davis - Full Spectrum

Ashra - New Age Of Earth

Andrew Thomas - Fearsome Jewel

All - Alltag 1 - 4

Aidan Baker - The Taste Of Summer On Your Skin

Harold Budd - Avalon Sutra

Chihei Hatakeyama - Saunter

Rameses III - I Could Not Love You More

Robin Guthrie & Harold Budd - Before The Day Breaks

Boom.

oops I totally forgot "A Warm Place" by NIN in my previous post

In the context of the album, that song's terribly heavy and depressing

beautifully heavy and depressing

hakobune, track 2 from this release

glowing in beige on the national stage

la Piscine by Dictaphone

I did listen to this song nonstop for 2 days in a row often

its basically an atmosphere recording of a pool and some very quiet flutes in the background

the complete song is a bit longer

The last 2 minutes of Sphere Of No-Form are like one of the most epic moments in the history of ambient music, imo.

Remembranza is one of the most perfect albums of all time.

I need to check it out then, cheers.

An Ending by Brian Eno is beautiful as well, but it sounds really depressing to my ears, in a good way lol

I've had tons of discussions with people about music being depressing. Most people I know have said: "How can you listen to Murcof? It's so damn depressing", whereas I think it's beautiful in a melancholy way.
