every analogue solutions product i've owned has been a disappointment

In what way? They sound pretty bloody good from what I've heard.

the build quality can be a little cheap and the lack the refinement of some classic vintage and higher market analouges but they are a bargain 2nd hand for the sound they have

Interesting. I commented on a YouTube vid, posted by ASUK demoing the Telemark, about issues with the pots I'd read about online. This was rubished by someone from ASUK. I then replied to this saying I was glad to hear it & thought it must have been a one off. But since then I keep stumbling across other AS users with complaints about build quality.

Here's the vid;

the components of AS's stuff tend to be run of the mill bits you can get from CPC or any other good electronic store (expect plastic jack sockets, average pots) however Tom does build all of this by hand and thats what you pay for although he can 'take the Michael' with the prices of some kit but if you went elsewhere you'd be paying a lot more for the same specs

this also means it's quite easy to fix yourself but if not Tom is quite good at helping out via email

I'll say my Vostok is as good as the some of its parts but not greater

if Serge was Aston Martin AS would be Alfa Romeo
