Classic. Can’t believe it’s almost 30 years old already.

also, think the bassline is sampled from this:

Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Embarrassing. Shove your privilege.

Man, you're right, Herbie Hancock is so ubiquitous. It's like I've heard all his work without listening to all of his work

I don't think this is classed as cheese to me. Just classic funk seeing as anything that doesn't sound AE or Analord is regarded as cheese by some with very limited taste in music lol.

can't stand most modern R&B and shitty pop hip hop, love this track tho:

the vocal is great, nice break, subtle and relatively interesting music too (especially the bit at the end)

everything else she does is pretty awful and boring

I remember this tune. Reminds me Beyonce lol.

I always dug this tune. I would count it as cheesy though. I wouldn't play it in a club ha ha. Love the chords.

I love this era of herbie. I mean, I enjoy pretty much all of his music but 1978-1983 is wonderful.

I think Future Shock was the pinnacle of his electro, disco funk style stuff (that's how I'd describe it, probably wrong lol). Releases like Perfect Machine a couple of years later lost a bit of that vibe for me.
