and oh so cheap!

Yeah man wtf £2.99! Bang on it son.

Yeah, I asked Rephlex about this, got an interesting reply:

me:

> Why is Mental Union only £3 when most albums are £6.25?

> Did you make a mistake on the pricing?

Rephlex:

> Mental Union is the first part in a future series.

> Hence the EP pricing.

edit: that also explains why the cat number is CAT 213-A

Great album. Boom Blaster LP is getting over looked though too. Both fucking great

Yeah? Haven't even listened to the samples yet. Is it very different in style to Mental Union? I wonder what the sales stats look like between the two releases...

I think you are the first person to mention Boom Blaster LP but that might jsut be because people went for the EP first and are leavin the LP for a week or two (my plan)...

Or maybe they are confusin it with the Boom Blaster EP like I did at first...

I don't know if it's just me, but Boom Blaster seems a little more sinister and darker in tone and I'm preferring it to Mental Union although I love both. I don't have the ears for compositional style that many people here have but I'd stick my neck out and say that in places I'm subtly reminded of the Astrobotnia records, particularly in tracks like 'Multiverse'.

Having two Perala releases out together and both being so frigging good is almost overwhelming.

i dont know, boom blaster album goes along the ep, so i bet it must have been recorded in 2008 (or before) while Mental Union is the first in a series to be released, so probably recorded later. well, i'm just speculating.. all i know for sure is that Mental Union is a truly fanstastic album. i still dont know if i should buy the mp3 of Boom blaster or wait for the wav/cd(?)/lp(?). same with d'arcangelo new one..
