a sampler, reconstructing it in the studio. Then playing it live from whatever he recorded it in. Sending separate tracks to fx buses and max on a laptop w/ outputs to a mixer.

yeah, much better than the album version. the overlayed melody at the end is one of my favorites ever.. so playful and expressive.
