This is a great film, really well scripted, funny but also insightful ... the bombers are made up of two bullies (of different sorts) and three easily led types, and I guess that must be how it works in practice.

Felt very sorry for poor Fessel

And I like how it balances the ridiculous and the dramatic. The scene where the chap says goodbye to his wife was really well done.

Less Morris-shocking than I thought it would be - which makes sense cos I think he directed rather than wrote it.

He did write it, but with another guy whose name I forget. It's basically his idea though.

I went to a 9pm showing in Manchester on a Tuesday and there was a good 50+ people in there (pretty good for an independent film) all laughing out loud, so many great one liners in the film, although watching the trailer after, seems most are in the trailer....

This is why I never watch trailers, and I'm glad I didn't before seeing Four Lions. It even ruins

Well I promised to fund it, but they ended up getting funding by a proper production company anyway so it didn't cost me nuffink - it was very nice of Mr. Morris to put all that effort in hand writing different messages on every card

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

I just saw this tonight at BAM in Brooklyn.

Little did i know, Chris Morris was there to give an introduction and Q & A.

The movie was awesome and he was hilarious in person.

Everyone needs to see this movie.

It opens in NYC on the 5th. I'm not sure where else it is opening.

Guest Dirty Protest

Most of the criticism ive heard leveled at it seems to be that the terrorists were to stupid to be believable. Any of the ground level terrorits ive ever known where really fucking stupid, the Elim church is full of morons with missing body parts that theyve blown off themselves.

I hear part of an interview w/Chris Morris about this on NPR last weekend - interestingly, he said that much of the movie was based on ACTUAL, real world situations where the sort of bumbling antics presented in the movie really took place. The clip they played (and, I confess, haven't seen any of the movie) was the crew discussing the blowing up of a mosque to raise sympathies for their cause (one guy starts talking about how that's like getting into a prizefight and deciding to start punching yourself in the face). He said that the dialogue was taken, verbatim, from MI-5 surveillance.

It's Chris Morris, so I frankly take anything he says as being potentially a fucking w/the media pisstake, but it sounds like there is a ton of real-world basis for this shit.

At the Q&A, he was talking a lot about that kind of thing.

He apparently did a shit-to of research on the subject and gave over a dozen examples of the stupidest things terrorists had done.

Many of these didn't make it into the film but were hysterical.

He was talking about some wire-tap he had heard where the terrorists got into an serious argument over who was cooler, Osama Bin Laden or Johnny Depp.
