for some reason they've been refusing to use more than 2-bar patterns lately. it's like, hey do you think every once in a while the note would go up 2 steps higher, or maybe it would do a little walk down or something here and there?

ah, no we don't need to do that, see i am going to adjust this filter occasionally and bring these other 3 2-bar patterns in and out so that should be plenty of variance.

so there isn't any kind of lead then, or even just copies of the patterns with subtle changes?

nope, i really think we're covered with these 4 patterns just as they are, and this one knob. see they won't all play at the same time, and we can build them up, break them back down and then if that gets boring, well we have the knob.

I agree with this post entirely. I still like Homework and Discovery (they're basically what got me into electronic), but Human After All was just horribly boring in every single possible way and so far the stuff for Tron Legacy just sounds like Human After All part 2 with less voice stuff.

The one Rubin posted seems like it could be legit but for trying to make a score for a movie... really lazy and uninspired..

The track Hoodie posted... anyone could sample 20 seconds of a daft punk song add a bass drum dropping quarter notes and make that in 11.33 minutes.

The original Tron soundtrack by Wendy Carlos is so much better than these songs it's not even funny. what an uninspired choice for the Tron soundtrack, movie studio should have picked Autechre

it needs to be simple in order for the 'mainstream audience' to understand and listen to it. they're creating music for a sci-fi disney family movie, it has to be aimed at 14 year olds. daft punk is like babby's first techno

I'm not surprised Fragile is fake . Yeah, the track was good , but...it's just didn't have that Daft Punk feel . It felt like stuff was missing or something...it just didn't sound complete.

well, remember that prestige was originally like a one-minute clip. the version i posted is an "extended cut" made by a fan on youtube. so it's at least possible i guess.

i've never seen the original tron, but it obviously looks cheesy and outdated. maybe that's part of the charm.

the sequel looks really good in terms of graphics. it's a lot better than ps2 graphics, ok

i just think the original looks highly stylized and crafted, the new one looks how do i say a little bit like the new Speedracer movie, something about the CGI work looks kind of forgettable.
