Guest Masonic Boom
Hang on, hathathat is that quote about Jung's red book? That is some of the most beautiful and insane and terrifying and amazing imagery I've ever seen. Guest hahathhat
yes, it is, but i haven't seen the red book myself -- just read about it. put my head spinning. tied some threads together it did.... after i thought about THIS thread, i remembered what jung told that lady. it's good advice. Guest Masonic Boom
I've been looking it up on Amazon since you mentioned it - pretty pricey but today was payday so I might have to get it. They published some pics in the Guardian a few months ago that I meant to cut out and stick on my wall but I forgot & recycled it. I did actually follow his advice when I was much younger and made this scary journal I called the Book Of Bernard with loads of dream-inspired and manic-episode inspired drawings which was really helpful until my shrink started photocopying it to put in my case file. :-( Made for a great triptoy, though. I remember sitting around in a circle with a bunch of hippies in Central Park in NYC just passing it around. Hrmmm. Sorry, is there a CJ Jung thread on this forum? If not, there needs to be one! This is the kind of trippy thing we are talking about (from Jung's Red Book): Edited January 29, 2010 by Masonic Boom Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/52949-holy-sanctimonious-piece-of-music/page/2/#findComment-1228246 Share on other sites

Salvatorin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eEvAiCN0YQ blessed YIZZLE BEE: OCT-O=0.doc MUCH OF THIS is based on other documents explaining the FEY pantheon (where inefferable octopi rotate in the multiversal canopy, with leaves of feigenbaum constants, and the great cosmic serpent flitters above, about the whitest hole, the negative informational singularity). I think this is all the lore that is referenced, however. Most of this will make sense without previously having read the manual. Guest hahathhat
it was this strange mango peach or something juice. my roommate went to the bank, and he spotted some place with a sign that said BEER right nearby, so he wandered in. it turned out to be a russian market, full of stereotypical old russian hags (sorry to any old russian hags, but this is how he described it) that had hedscarves and such. he selected beer and some groceries. at the checkout counter, the cashier rang him up and then said "TAKE ONE", pointing to a bin. apparently, he purchased enough for a freebee. the bin had all sorts of things, including this strange mango peach or whatever juice. the markings are in russian or something. anyways, as you take a sip, it's not sweet straight off... i believe this is because it has natural sugars, cane or from the fruit, as opposed to high-fructose corn syrup. it just starts off cool and smooth, very smooth. then, as you swallow, sweetness starts to register... slowly, gradually, like a cloud of gas rising up from below your consciousness. Every time I took a sip this progression of taste happened, and I found myself focusing on how taste bubbles up into my consciousness... and to my surprise, I realized it didn't quite come from my tounge. When you taste something, you are also touching it -- the touch sensors in your mouth. For this reason, we attribute tastes to coming from our tounge. However, if you had no touch sensors in your mouth, taste would be a strange experience: you would feel taste like I was feeling it at that moment, just bubbling up from the bottom of your consciousness, like fizz in a soda. Smell is heavily involved in taste. You see your food, the color of it. Tasting something is, in short, a very compound experience. Multiple types of sensory data combine into the singular experience of tasting something. For a moment, that experience started to de-integrate on me... this is a disintegrated aesthetic, yes? Salvatorin
THat is an interesting anecdote. I can kind of visualize the bubblelogica going on there. If the bubble:JUICE holds its own as a bubble, tasting it in the fashion you mentioned is like lightly penetrating it's surface without popping it (the surface being the superficial conceptual titles and processes assigned to bubble: JUICE), sticking a straw right in, and letting the pure, unadulterated sensuality of bubble:JUICE embrace your psyche! Guest Masonic Boom
Silky mouth-feel. Yes, I often feel like taste isn't really a distinct sense experience from smell. So it should really be OK for me to smell a chocolate bar and eat a granola bar but it doesn't seem to work that way.
