maschine

A friend of mine has it and he seems quite happy with it

another friend is into buying a machinedrum

what are the differences despite the obvious ones that one is a software + midi controller and the other is pure hardware and hardware synthesis?

I never really understood how the machinedrum works for doing arrangements without any external sequencer so forgive me when the question is stupid

is the machinedrum a bit like a TR-505 in arrangement?

It does need an external sequencer (the maschine software or your DAW of choice with maschine vst).

I'm really stoked to get one of these. Just waiting on guitar center to send me my receipt for my apc40 so i can get it repaired and sell it.

sorry I think you mixed it up in the second part I was talking about the machine drum compared to NI maschine not about NI maschine itself

Doesn't machinedrum have a built in step sequencer?

Machinedrum is synthesis and sampling, but it doesn't have pads like Maschine. It also costs way more than Maschine, and makes you cum when you touch it.

Maschine can do step sequencing and has tactile mpc style pads so you can actually drum but it's sample only.

I wish I had money for both of these.

Hmmm... that sounds very interesting. I remember thinking at the time it came out that it looked like a cool device but was really put off that it was sample based only and linked to the computer. Still not sure that i'd get over the reliance on a computer but it's definitely a very interesting proposition now. I can imagine having great fun with reaktor-based drum machines...

VST hosting in upcoming update. If they pull it off without making things too clunky, it will be great.
