Looks like a tight piece. Wonder how quality it is sonically. Got any links to tracks/demonstrations you fancy?

this one's okay:

probably spend it all on one hardware effects unit, it'd be a tough decision though.

maybe:

been curious about these as well:

pigtronix.jpg

a golden ratio delay sounds interesting..

and:

ursamajor.l.jpg

not sure if these even exist though, probably way more than $500 if one ever turned up..

also, saw one of these for $350 on craigslist a week ago:

certainly wouldn't mind having one around

pros:

nice step-fx

flexible step sequencer

bassline mode

drum machine mode

phono preamp

cons:

a pain to use due to lack of lcd

a bit noisy

midi config is annoying

Man, excellent taste! Although the moog is a bit out of the range (new that is). I have heard people say that the moog is a bit too dark. They are probably just harmony central fags though. It really ought to have an adjustable passband at that price point though (and MIDI).

And the seven woods audio space station is SO nice. I would love to own one, but the price is nearly 3 times the amount being chucked into your countenance: http://www.analoguehaven.com/sevenwoodsaudioinc/sst-206/

Pigtronix makes really nice stuff. For delays at that price point you should also consider this empress piece: http://www.analoguehaven.com/empresseffects/superdelay/

I use a Malekko Echo 600 Dark (now discontinued, but still very much available). Heavy demonstration here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p28AQEBH0R4

Discontinued most likely because the Ekko 616 is so much better on paper. http://www.analoguehaven.com/malekko/ekko616/

I had to opt for the massive aluminum knobs, metallic green paint, vintage robot, and pink LED though. To me there is so much opportunity for an effect pedal to be an ornate, whimsical little inspiration box.

I do care a lot for a simple analog delay. You'll find yourself dialing in interesting, evolving trails (triplets, sixtuplets, warped slapbacks, occult) when you aren't just throwing on an eighth note tempo synced unit and calling it a day.

And you have more notes to cash to spare.

Man, that thing is thoroughly dipped in calx. Reminds me of that nightmare I had the other night. If the hypothetical gods had me choose between getting fucked by a rhinoceros and always having to run my gear through the groovebox, i'd have to hit the kegelcizer.

yeah, i would certainly look for the moog used, which usually runs around $500. it's tough to trust those harmony central reviews, but i've never seen one show up around here in person so it's all i have to go on. chances are i'd swing for something a little more under the radar, like that empress you mentioned, which looks incredible. so many different delay modes.

jesus, $1400? there's quite a few synths that would step into the picture before that one's sitting on the table.

that echo 600 sounds so syrupy and fat, i'll definitely have to look more into that one, too.

i just bought one of these the other day with money i don't have:

vermonaretroverb_4015699_res.jpg

it's been amazing so far, but i haven't gotten jack shit done since i got it because it's too fun to toy around with. farily quiet too until you start really cranking the gain, which usually isn't necessary. i'm leaning towards getting a digital reverb next to add to the chain to see how they interact with each other.

so when do i get this $500?

I'd pull the trigger on the Metasonix r52.

Uh oh... look forward to hearing how you handle that.

I am still loving acid 016. Lots of righteous moments have been had to that track of yours man!
