I was thinking earlier that I'm actually anxious to hear this, despite my lack of interest in his last two. But no leaks for me, one more month!

First three songs kill it and then it just gets pretty iffy from there. Much better than Jim but still not a patch on Multiply or Super Collider.

i want to hear the more experimental side of Jamie Lidell, is the Super Collider album a good start? that video someone posted up here if him doing beat boxing and then singing over it was very good

i'd start with "raw digits" by super_collider. then "muddlin gear" by jamie lidell. then "head on" by super_collider. then jamie's 12" on mosquito records, called "freekin the frame".

Hmm, I would have said Head On (most trippy/awesome) first, then Muddlin Gear (most experimental) or Raw Digits (a bit more mellow but still top notch).

Muddlin' Gear is insanely experimental, I can't wrap my brain around it at alll....

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

The G. Lister 12" (Spymania/Mosquito) is good - works with a more diverse (or odd) palette of sounds but is beat-driven and doesn't noodle too much

This album has suddenly come alive for me. It took a few listens but all of a sudden I'm loving it. She Needs Me is an absolutely fucking killer tune.

Lol so far that stands out as my least favorite (I think that's the one). I'm less into the soul stuff, more into the weird ones.

Hah. To be honest I like all his stuff, I do like the soul stuff though because it really gives him a chance to show off how great he is as a vocalist with some of his melodies and his ability to pick out luscious harmonies. Like the bit at around 1:30 on She Needs Me with the "don't ever let her go" line. To me that tune reminds me of Prince big time.
