apparently, it is available for everybody to make, but it requires some skill.

i guess it will happen sooner or later, with advance of consumer hardware, realistic stuff could be rendered in real-time. but i don't see rendering quality so much of an issue as the *animation*. complex rigs like human body with all the joints, plus stuff like skin (and collisions, on top of that...) makes this harder to put in a software package that any teenager could understand and work with.

maybe in 5 years.

i do think it will rule when super complicated algorithms like water ripples or smoke are stuffed into little lite plugins on a piece of software you can get hacked on pirate bay
