i personally feel like it is one of their most cohesive and mature works and

music's.

I still can't get into ep7... every time I read about someone loving it, I give it a spin and I can hardly get through it. I love dropp and individually the tracks aren't bad, but I just can't listen to the whole set together in one shot.

i guess i just have a personal connection to ep7, it is one of the autechre albums that

strikes me as truly elegant. i really love all autechre work's of course, but ep7

has an elegance that stands alone for me. maybe similar also to what i feel from

lp5 and cichlisuite.

Well, true. Incu was my first ae record and that might bias my idea of it. I do feel however, that as a complete record its way stronger than Amber in terms of melody, novelty and the layered quality of the tracks. And revisiting Incu never lets me down, I think it stands on its own and I still come across things within the record which went unnoticed before.

Amber has its moments too, no doubt. I just don´t value it as much.

Tri rep, draft and confield are my fave albums by ae, so naturally I agree.

This is becoming dangerously close to a rated list isn´t it?

( just need to discuss slide, untilted, quari, oversteps, chiastic and LP5 and it would amount to the same thing )

Rating the albums is dumb though because they are all consistent, uniform quality.

The fact that I own a copy of every Autechre/Gescom LP/EP on both CD and vinyl without exception and nothing below (NM).
