I like Modus Operandi over Form and Function

plug - drum & bass for papa.

the mid 90's explosion of D&B ( genre origins actually late 80's!) was always

predominantly about 12"s. that's why

good albums are hard to find, because it was rarely a genre which

developed in directions which suited

them.

Goldie - Timeless.

Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Not really. I gave it a listen the other day, first time after years, and didn't work objectively. It worked purely on a nostalgic level but I wouldn't say it's dope or excellent music nowadays. It got old, really.

However, i Listened to "Saturn ReturnZ", the second CD, and I was actually surprised that I found it good. Some excellent tracks in there, try it.

Also, I'm looking for some Peshay mixtapes (no albums), if anybody can hook me up. I used to buy these metalheadz mixtapes on cassette in camden town.

Wouldn't agree there !

I still think the album works as well as it did when I first heard it.

but each to their own

Two pages and not a single mention of Colours by Adam F, probably the best DNB album?

roni size/reprazent - new forms

I personally think this is the last great DnB release ever.

as far as photek 12"s go... his Op Art works are my favorite:

Not DnB though. More like ambient techno. Something he was really good at! I miss that 12"!

platinum breakz series off metalheadz

anything by dom & roland is a must

era of diversion by evol intent (has more than just dnb too)

i'm glad a few of you are fans of the diagnostics lp by tech itch. i like his you need therapy mix he released a few years back too.

good way to follow dnb is to check out the labels that artists you like are on. most labels release a lot of compilation lps that are way dope.

and btw if you're into dark heavy shit you should definitely check out limewax.

Fanu - Daylightless

Plug - Drum'n'Bass for Papa

Photek - Form and Funtion

Dillinja - My Sound

Breakage - This Too Shall Pass disc 1

yes! dillinja... one of the albums that REALLY got me into d&b at 15/16 was

dillinja - cybotron.

i tend to forget about it but from time to time ill put this on and im rocking back and forth like a spastic sporting the gunfingaz all over again. in fact i will put it on right now and murk the neighbours when dey tryna hate on the rubebwoys game.

HOSSA

whoever said Noisia is spot on.

Im usually picky about dnb, especially newer stuff, but Noisia seems incredibly innovative...and when I say their tracks are DIRTY and EVIL, im not talking just boring dubstep fart bass all the time...these guys are masters of processing...love em.

The Truper-Street Beats

hell yes

First. Grab every single Konflict ever released. They never made a proper album, but it doesn't matter. They started the ball seriously rolling in terms of funked out d&b once the move was made past both jungle & jump-up

Once you digest that. Try these on.

Ram Trilogy - Molten Beats

UFO! - The Future is Listening

Ed Rush & Optical - Wormhole

Anything by Dj Zinc.
