What's your prediction for BOC's next release?

Michael had a kid in 2004/05 (pre Campfire) so you can presume most of the tracks were written beforehand. Marcus Eoin wrote Farewell Fire on his own so i presume Michael's involvement may have petered out a bit by the end, and although it was a very good album, i still to this day think it's the weakest of the three. I also got the impression Trans Canada Highway was leftover tracks that didn't fit in with the LP, and given that Dayvan Cowboy and the remix was included, meant they didn't have much else. It was lazy and not like BoC and maybe they had a contractual obligation to give Warp an EP.

Therefore i have come to the conclusion that maybe Michael lost a bit of interest cos of family commitments, and the guys went their seperate ways for a while (still? Hong Kong and NZ),occasionaly working seperately, either meeting up now and then or sending stuff over the net. It works for Isan so it aint a problem other than being time consuming.

Just a thought (and probably a load of bollocks).

You need to tone down the flaming - he happens to be a member here as well, and like everyone, deserves a measure of respect.

It will be interesting if it's ever revealed (or can be revealed) why the album was delayed for so long... but I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

I have 0 expectations, really.

I feel bad for MDG... having to read all the garbage that gets put on the BoC sub-forum. Every thread starts out neutral and sparks intelligent conversation, then quickly degrades into "MDG IS FAKE, BOC ARE DEAD! GIVE ME A NEW ALBUM NOW!"

Maybe BoC isn't releasing a new album 'cause they are so ashamed that the people who listen to their music are morons.

Everyone is so impatient these days. I know it's been said before, but just sit tight and relax, it'll come when it's ready. And if that means that the BoC forum stay dormant for a couple months, so be it. At least it will save a lot of WATMM's time.

Never!!! When something he/she/it says actually happens/comes true then fair enough. But we're still waiting for that 'keep your eyes peeled' BoC box set that was mentioned back in 2001!! You'll forgive me if I don't break out the champagne after the next mention of an imminent BoC album, that has been delayed somewhat because Marcus ran over a hedgehog on the way to the studio & has been feeling very bad about the whole thing for the last 4 years.

To be fair, MDG only comments when it comes to busting myths. If you refer to the official statements from the Hexagon Sun, you'll see that MDG only posts when some fan has a ridiculous theory about BoC (or in rare cases to confirm a ridiculous theory). MDG told us about the new album coming out soonish when he (and the band) thought it was soon, but then it got delayed. As far as I'm concerned MDG has never fed us any mis-information, and only intervenes when he needs to.

What do you want from him, a clear and concise documentary on how the album is going?.. Well, my friend that would just ruin the magic, now wouldn't it? And to me that is what it's all about, creating (for lack of a better word) mystery so that there is another dimension to an album that otherwise would just be zeros and ones passing through a computer.
