Well, I thought Planet of Ice was by far their best, but yeah, this one shows their lighter, funkier side. Much less kickass guitar parts, more synths, less exciting vocal melodies. A step down I'd say.

Hmm. Well my favorite is Highly Refined Pirates and I thought Planet of Ice may have been well written but was pretty boring in comparison to the expectations the band set when I first heard them. So that said, if this is lighter and funkier than Planet of Ice, I may like it more, but I'm not keen on the inclusion of more synths or less exciting vocal melodies. Might check it out eventually.
