I own both Mask of Birth and Strings on cd, and strings is definitely the better of the two.

This was my first listen of CoH in general. You're right, I think it will take a little time to get into this. i think "Strings" will be my next listen. (when I'm done with this.)

strings is a gigantic change, but one for the better imo. coh gets better with every album.

edit - well maybe not gigantic but pretty big
