Has anyone done Playing With Knives yet? Everytime I hear that I basically shit myself with happiness. Even when I'm mixing it on my own. LOVE it

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

We also forgot a few others that kinda broke it into mainstream.

This is amazing.

I really wish I could have been at the age to apprectiate all this stuff when it was out there.

I grew up listening to prodigy from when i was 9 years old, so 94' onwards... but of course didn't have a clue about any of this stuff, and didn't know what a rave was.

I can't wait for bangface, hopefully going to be a lot of oldskool dropped.

Missed the Summer of Love of 88 myself and all that, was in the mid teens. Didn't really get into it until the early 90s, and headed off to the city in 1992, so really just caught the tail end of it, and the move into Jungle and DnB. And of course in the south west of Ireland we didn't really have that whole 'waiting at stations on the outskirts of cities waiting for news of the rave to come through' experience - or at least I didn't know the right crowd! Maybe that scene existed in Limerick or Cork alright, but not in the student land where I was. Sometimes I wish I was a couple of years older and could have experienced more of it.

I've been listening to this stuff all day. I'm fucking off to the pub now WATMM, expect some PROPER belters when I get back

Let's keep this going!

Think Altern8 had the best look. They just screamed rave. They were exciting times. Apart from all the shoe gazers with their brown jumpers and grunge spoiling the mood.

NICE! Interesting trivia fact, the guy who set up Sub Base way back in the day is now worth about £10 million... he moved on to licensing those Pure Garage and Euphoria compilations and worked for Telstar for ages too.

I'd love a sequel to this thread, maybe we should do a jungle one, then a garage one... SO many good tunes to explore!
