Synchronized AFX Album Cycle

Alright folks well I'm back with another sickeningly fanboyish idea.

What if we listen to the entire AFX discography over the course of a few weeks/months and discuss about it periodically. I like going to shows to listen to music WITH other people, and sometimes me and a buddy will sync up a track so that it starts at exactly the same time and discuss how awesome it is. Its basically just a splooge of Aphex fanboyism but if this had to go anywhere, the AFX forums here on our own Watmm is the place.

I'm thinking we listen to an album for like 3 days or so, and then move on to the next one. Just the idea of knowing that all the other AFX fans on here also have the same RDJ album (lol pun) as me going in rotation. Also we can talk about the albums one by one while we do this and discuss what tracks we like/dislike and what tracks we've grown to enjoy. The only rules would be that you have to listen to the ENTIRE album cumulatively within the period for everyone. We could negotiate the rotation period obviously but the basic premise stays the same.

I don't think there is really much point to this, just a fun and interesting experiment but would you guys be down for making the epic RDJ journey together?

Are there any albums I forgot? Not sure, don't think so. It runs a little long, but RDJ has more albums than Ae overall I'm sure, and 4.5 months of listening to AFX isn't bad! Any tips on switching the albums or compressing, would be great!

The ae threads were pretty good and I found myself sticking to it right til the end - I'm sure I can do the same with afx. I feel as though I have deprived his music for a while.

edit: I suggest you wait for a few more replies until going ahead with this. It would be good to get as many people taking part in this as possible. I remember the ae threads being around 6-8 pages of replies for each cycle which was a good turn out.

yeah it's probably best to wait quite a while, so people can find this before it starts (the afx forums have been a little deserted as of late), I agree.

I think that is a decent list overall. Perhaps splitting the analords would be good

Yeah, I figured splitting them in over 3 weeks was good enough to digest easily. I haven't heard a whole bunch of Richard's music lately, and I think this would be a good way to get excited about him again, and synclistening is always good

aren't we doing 3 day sections? i thought i read that. 2 ep's for every 3 days would be good. maybe even 3.

i cut out 2 remixes, analogue bubblebath 5, and melodies from mars.

some weeks seem dense (week 7) but they're all roughly the same length.

each week would be a legit week, not a 3 day period.

how about next monday, give people a week to see this, and start at the beginning of a week.

instead of splitting them up, we listen to all of them over two weeks
