idea for a movie

Recommended Posts

so here's my idea. it's a realistic romantic comedy about a guy and a girl who have a date night together. they go to dinner and have this really fascinating conversation and the movie takes place in real time, so a lot of their discussion will cut to scenes from the past or whatever as their voice serves as narrative for the scenes. they finish dinner, then head to the movie theatre. they go to see die hard 5. they watch die hard 5-- in its entirity!! so you, the audience watches die hard 5 in its entirity. so it's like a trojan horse for die hard 5. of course then, bruce willis would be on the payroll for "Dinner and a Movie" as you would have to produce that entire film as well. then after the rom-com couple makes love or whathaveyou, something to sort of tie the whole thing together. now it would be a bit long-- over 3 hrs probably. but imagine getting die hard 5 totally snuck in and you manage to watch the whole thing with them, two movies! bam! thoughts?

I'd like to share a synopsis for a TV show I want to exist, it would have to be put in an inauspicious TV slot and promoted as a classic car documentary;

Near-unintelligible film which begins as a presumably factual documentary about a historic motor car. In the first act, the presenter, a likeable grey-haired man in his 50s discusses the merits and significance of the car while driving it through sparse Nordic landscapes. Upon arrival at the topic of the engine he will look directly into the camera and make a comment to the effect that the best understanding of the vehicle would come from viewing its inner workings. He should appear pale and clammy at this point, and then franticly clamber under the bonnet. At this scene the film will recklessly switch to an entirely fantastical second act in which the presenter somehow physically enters the internal workings of the vehicle and is stalked by an unknown entity through a maze of dark tunnels. Cut to a long dark shot of him climbing slowly down a ladder to emerge in a dark metallic tunnel, where he begins to explain details of the technical specifications but soon becomes clearly uncomfortable and distracted by small noises and the increasingly apparent presence of something moving incredibly fast through the tunnels around him. Soon he is livid with fear and begins weeping and shouting at the cameraman, although using several angles it will be shown that there is nobody else with him. He continues to hear fast movements and sees blurry pale shapes circling him in adjoining passages, and becomes hysterical, begins scratching at screws and bolts on the wall until his hands are covered in blood before being attacked by thousands of crows and completely devoured within the closing minutes.

Would you watch this?

you kind of went campy-monster-horror a la "sunshine"/blairwitch with the most of that second act, but other than that i like it a lot. i think maybe if you ditched the whole "monster" idea and created a more thoughtful twist once he gets inside it could be an interesting film

I'm curious - when they get to the theater and die hard 5 starts, does the camera pan into the cinema screen essentially segueing into a whole different movie or do we watch die hard alongside the characters watching it, with all the additional content from the theater, like them talking about scenes and people eating popcorn and shushing each other n shit?

you should definitely see the guy getting an HJ during the car chase

also it should be a 3d movie of people watching a 2d movie

^ also a 3d movie of people watching a 2d movie should be in the 2011 bracketology

frame storytelling is a bit jb, maybe it could just slowly transition itself from a romantic comedy into diehard5

what the fuck you mean "a bit jb" name one movie where you go in and then in the middle of the movie you watch die hard 5 in its entirity

people on watmm live with their fingers on the jb trigger
