Round 2 witnessed three spectacular one-point matches: the Fibonacci sequence started slow but scored most of its points at the end, ultimately stumping the Aspies' methodic, focused gameplan with a final buzzer beater; abandoned museums played a tight, no-frills game that came down to the wire and barely escaped gravity's nagging defense; Möbius Strip's attack proved too one-dimensional to get past the big-picture scheming of the Hubble telescope. All were excellent matches, but perhaps none were as stunning as girls and robots in the same photograph's domination over #1 seed ice water with ice.

Will GARITSP be able to carry its momentum into the Sweet 16 matchup against infinity? Will the astoundingly epic matchup of two strong personalities in Carl Sagan and Ulillillia prove to be the "game of the century" as pundits have already been proclaiming? Will sleep deprivation have the time and patience to survive the Fibonacci sequence's powerful endgame? who will win between two similar styles of play in the factories at night - airport terminals matchup? if these matches are anything like last round's, then we will no doubt be at the edge of our seats once again!

Round 3 starts now!!

CARL SAGAN!!!!!!

off to a roaring start!

fractal brocolli gettin' chomped!!

i have a feeling immortal jellyfish are insulted to even have to play against clocks. they'll drop at least 80 on their asses.

Factories at night are putting in an extra shift - airport terminals not coping with the extra traffic

Immortal jellyfish are out to avenge Deep Sea Creatures' narrow loss in 08 - can anything stop an immortal sea creature with A Score To Settle?

ulillillia is ulillillia but carl sagan is CARL FUCKIN SAGAN

no contest here

A colourful start to this round from synasthesia while fractal broccoli vegetates

synasthesia's desire for victory is so strong they can almost taste it!

The neck and neck status seems to be reflecting an apathetic interest in two mirrors, can the hubble telescope magnify its lead?

I voted for Ulillillia because Pale Blue Dot already exists as a tribute album for Carl Sagan. But that said, I haven't listed to it, and I assume it is shit, so I'd be happy to do a proper tribute album for Carl.

Actually I'd be happy to crown most of these as IDM of the year. But please not the Fibonacci Sequence, the LHC, or airport terminals.

yes flahblub did a sagan tribute album, but that is the very antithesis of IDM.

we can do better.

synaethesia didnt respond too well to the umpire's last call of "freshly-cut grass with a hint of lawnmower petrol"

I imagine a tribute album to infinite would sound like Left Blank by Autechre extended to 1 hour.

Girls and robots ought to have a bigger leads against infinite.

Edit: shit, they're tied now. wtf?!

Immortal jellyfish is quickly rising to the surface while a clock that only you know how to read is taking its time!

(I could do this all night)

the higgs boson is gonna travel back in time to prevent LHC winning, mark my words.

Right now the LHC is running rings around abandoned museums who are devoid of any life.
