i've been in berlin for a couple days; and i've lived in central amsterdam for a couple months, which i imagine to be broadly similar to berlin

suffice to say i don't find it surprising in the least that techno viking is a florist, lol

Now that you mention it, I was in amsterdam during euro cup in 2000 and it really isn't that fucked. But it really is. I can put myself in the middle of that city chomping on a nice hot shawarma when that guy just blasts past me with a loud untz untz and I pull my face up from that hot meat cone with sauce on my face to realize this sweaty manliest manchild Nordic viking muscle head just blew by me and he smelled like a fucking patch of chrysanthemums and I think nothing of it and just shrug it off like it happens every day

in 1999 my birthday happened to coincide with the gay olympics (yes, they exist) in central a-dam.

it was unadulterated lol. every cliche under the sun sneaking off down dark alleys furtively together.
