Spending 12 months on a drum loop

I think one can go too far in tweaking and planning and being totally neurotic about sound quality, but in saying so, I do admire people who are really particular and precise.

I certainly don't think you're alone. I decided the best way to really charge forward was to do 50 one minute tracks in 50 days. Of course some of them (not finished yet) went well over a minute, but what I'm getting at is setting a limit on things.
