A jet is made up of lots of cells containing energy deposits. Each cell has an energy, a distance and an angular distance (dR) associated with it. So each cell can be heard as a separate note in this example. This is quite a long track (about 90 seconds). The sounds reduce in density very much towards the end, with isolated events separated by silences of several seconds.

I love how on the member map fred is all by himself in the middle of the US. No one (that will admit it) even close by. I've often pondered if this is a reflection of his personality. But we may never understand the workings of the McGriff.

yeah no other denver watmmers, wtf. you guys are missing out. denver is the shit.

anyway, great turnout on the LHC so far, this is going to be a good one. you guys that are stuck... COME ON GET UNSTUCK AND SUBMIT YOUR TRACK!!

I'll give it to you that Fred is all alone out there in the Rockies, but the center of the lower 48 is definitely in my state of Kansas =P

yeah i was generalizing b/c Fred has no one near him so he seems more in the middle. Besides you have xxx and sneaks close by to keep you warm at night :)

Are you still sticking to this deadline? Any chance of a delay?

Dude, you were aware of the deadline at the same time as the rest of us. You should have got a life way earlier so you could spend 6 hours per day in your studio and work on your LHC tune. There is no way you are going to handicap the whole community because you didn't plan the preparation of the submission in the said time. I am waiting for Fred's results impatiently and I swear I count the numbers of days left before the deadline on a daily basis. I even refresh this thread at least twice per hour in case Fred announces something new. I have been extremely bored since I quit my full time job for this contest and I don't want the results to be postponed.

Sincerely, Enter a new display name.

I'm right there with you Enter...

**pulls Enter closer so he can cry on my shoulder**

i could use an extension myself-- going out of town this weekend for memorial day weekend. Sunday, June 6th is the new final set-in-stone deadline.

sorry guys that are waiting, but you have my absolute word that we will crank this baby out very soon after the deadline, no delays.

It's finally going to plan but a quick question so I don't fuck up at the last hurdle - is there like a maximum duration of what the track can be. It's not uber long (about 7 minutes) but I'll cut it down if there's a maximum time limit.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

no maximum. we had a sort of "dont make it too long" rule for DSC because we wanted to fit everything on a CD, but we wont have that issue this time.
