Im the only one who finds the story telling weak then? I know its a childrens program and some allowances have to be made, but I was hoping for good things this series and its been mostly shit. Tellytubby daleks, wtf's that about. The show still hasnt recovered from understanding its own importance, sometime round David Tennents seconds series.

Yeah, I'm still let down by the simple writing too.

It's definitely aimed at a younger audience, and for good reason, but sometimes I wish they could successfully mix more challenging transitions.

I'm not sure what to make of the new Daleks, they seem a bit cartoony. Cool colour scheme and eye stalks though.

I'm a bit mixed by Victory of the Daleks - I've only watched it once, and on initial viewing I thought it was good, but a bit rushed - as for the new Daleks, I want to like them, but I'm not sure if do - the design seems solid enough, but the colours seem too geared towards selling toys rather than realistically making war machines, which essentially what Daleks are (and are supposed to be). I do like that Moffat dug himself out of the hole Davies' put the Daleks in by virtually wiping them out - this new group can now go forward and hopefully return as the threatening creatures they are supposed to be.

The actor that played Churchill was good as well - his double chin was hypnotic!

I agree it did seem a bit rushed, but I'm assuming (hoping) that it's just setting up another Dalek epic at the end of the series. I think I'll grow to like the new design, it just seems that the body is way too big for the head and the 'shoulders' jut out a little too much.

Christopher Eccleston.

Christopher Eccleston was a shit Doctor. He thought the role was below him and it showed.

And then he went on to a rather lacklustre role as the invisible man in douchey Heroes.

Clearly below him.

From what I can gather there's going to be shitloads of old monsters in the finale, dunno about the Daleks though it would make sense. I like that they so heavily reference the old 60s movie Daleks, with the size and chunky base and so on. There was some talk last year about the possibility of a film being made, perhaps that's one of their future plans.

Apart from that it was a pretty shit episode. It wouldn't be Doctor Who if it wasn't mostly shit.

saw the 2nd episode last night. had it's moments but again let down by the overall writing

In the cold light of day (and not yet watched episode 4), the premise of Victory Of The Daleks was weak (such as their needing the 'testimony' because of their tainted DNA). On the other hand, I have a love of the Daleks whatever they look like; the only other thing on telly I'm ever arsed about is Coast, Wonders Of The Solar System and MILF cooking with Rachel Allen.
