I figured you were joking but it was too late to edit my post. Although it is weird how some people take certain foods and races and make them racist. Like you could say Italians like macaroni. Yep no prob. But if you say black people like fried chicken, some people take offense to that. But anway...

Tell me about walnuts in pesto, I'm curious...

Speaking of food... I made waffles for the first time this morning. They came out great but I'm already wondering what extra ingredients I should start throwing into the batter. Any ideas WATMM?

An obvious choice, bananas.

Salty and sweet one of the best flavor combos

one of the best? the best. no argument otherwise. maybe salty + sweet + heat is better but still it's in the same family.

i had some old brussels sprouts in my fridge. i sauteed up some shallots in some butter and then tossed the sprouts in with garlic. i seared them up. then i tossed that with fresh chopped cilantro, lime juice, goat cheese, and i drizzled a touch of honey over it all. i mean i was fucking riffing and it came together beautifully. i was a warrior poet tonight. totally on point. all my produce was fucking old as shit and i made it all zing. i just now finished dinner. i'll let yall know how hard i shit at 4 in the morning when i wake up with my daily back pain.

re: chicken and waffles... there's a place that opened up a few months ago four houses down from my house. they make home made biscuits and buttermilk fried chicken every morning. jesus fuck. honestly it's the first thing that enters my mind when my alarm goes off every morning, and i do good just to eat there once a week. i'm trying to get them to get waffles on the menu.

greatest breakfast thing i've had in a while, while we're on the subject: banana bread french toast. it's light fluffy delicious banana bread but it's also fried up like french toast. lord have mercy.

pesto is one of the most amazing sauces ever, there are so many good sauces though, ever make it with spinach instead of basil(not as good, but still good). Fucking sauses with fukin achovies and brown suger and fucking the perfect flavored oil and a fresh egg goddam.

my gf was like "go easy on that pesto, seriously" and i was like "ha ha! silly woman! you think this a mighty pesto? t'is but a faint tingling 'pon my taste budlings!" and ate a shit load of it but then she was like "no, that's not what i was talking about" and i was like "Oh" and the next morning she found me lying in the fetal position in the shower rocking back and forth and weeping. true story.

this is meant to be used with pasta

It's more traditionally served with gnocchi, not pasta.

with the very most traditional kind of pasta fresca if you go to the root, and it's called trofie

i did a search and they're translated 'ligurian gnocchi' in english language

industrial pasta = fresh pasta dried up

I'm not an expert on Italian food, but gnocchi just means dumpling. Just because something has flour in it and is Italian doesn't make it pasta. And dried pasta does not = fresh pasta dried up. Fresh and dry pasta are composed of different things and are intended for different use.
