I just got back from the Jeff Hanneman public memorial service at the Palladium in Hollywood. I stood in line from 9am to 4pm with some of the drunkest mexicans I've ever met. It was awesome. No live music, but tons of heartfelt speaches from Kerry King, their managers, Robert Trujilo and others.

Following the speaches, there was avideo montage of pictures of Jeff thoughout his entire life. He seemed to be a really cool guy.

Durring the video, there were Slayer songs playing as part of the soundtrack. a bunch of circle pits started in the crowd. I never felt like I could cry over a mosh pit before. It was really special.

Here are the passes and pics we got...

PS

my slayer story

I was on the 1 train in nyc

humdrum work day.

mid 90's

the train is filled with working class stiffs

it's like 10 am

i stand up because my stop is coming….i walk towards the door…..and Tom is seated right in front of me.

mind fuck.

I just politely say "SLAYER?" in a quiet voice and tom looks up at me and smiles and in a way only tom can do...

Screams …….Very loudly ……………YEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

i slap him a fast pound of cheese and flip the horns …out the door I go ,baptized by the patron saint of metal for the new day.

I'm sure all of the stiffs were wondering WTF that was all about.

tee heee

jefferoo for Metal Head of the Century.

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

I have no idea what "slapping a fast pound of cheese" means but it is awesome.

Sounds a good day jefferoo. If I was local I would of gone too and I'd probably have a beer with you.
