Also she's really really shit. Shit singer, shit MC. Almost shit lyricist (has some, very few, interesting bits). What else does she fancy herself? A producer? Shit that too.

Good I feel really sorry for that video. It would've been great as a vid for Hecq's "Spheres of Fury" (just off the top of my head), less hipsters and all that. Or quite a few metal songs. Or Akira Kiteshi, HudMo...

Anything really.

her version actually gives the track the punk feel it deserves to have.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

It's no use man, he thinks forced-patois loudspeaker-effect vocals are give a "punk feel".

pre-emptive edit: I'm listening to the song again just on the off chance I might not be entirely objective and I think it's giving me ear cancer.

I'm going to re-edit this video copying and pasting the photos of everyone in the comments section who was like whoa trippy brilliant stuff best video I've ever seen

or basically anyone who comments on youtube really

did MIA forget how to compose her own songs?

i would respect it a lot if she actually said at the beginning of the video 'music by suicide'

she has the exposure to introduce thousands of young hipsters to Suicide and she acts like she made it, it's kind of shameful

edit: i mean FUCK, even Bruce Fucking springsteen credits Suicide when he covers 'Dream Baby Dream' at his shows. The dude has more respect for cutting edge 70s industrial music than this timul tiger lovin' twat

And believe me i don't listen to any music by the dude who did Born in the USA, but come on MIA you act like you're creative and diss lady gagga for being unoriginal but what the fuck do you call this shit?

i think this an amazing video, but I assume the WATMM hate machine has already turned you all against it.

Romain Gavaras is a brilliant director.

i don't see very many "hating" on the video, the video is well done i think it's a good video.

it's the shit song we're complaining about, and why is there this undercurrent in all debates now where if you offer extremely valid cutting criticism people call you a hater? some shameful shit................. Are you a hipster?? :emotawesomepm9::whistling::rolleyes:

I like Kala. MIA has some good songs and good production. This video was really well shot and directed, and all around very thrilling. I haven't heard of Suicide until now and the new song sounded really cool at first, but it gets points subtracted for being unoriginal.

That is my opinion on this important 2010 event.

You might enjoy reading this.

She's a fucking ignorant bitch. Every single "hit" she has made is a major interpolation or a sample. Everyone acts like throwing some Bollywood samples, "world music" percussion, and 'edgey' yet ambigious references to the the PLO and Tamils in her shitty non-singing, non-rap scats is brilliant. People think she's a rebel b/c she bitched about some visa issues and her dad was in the LTTE. At the end of the day she's still an art student from London with a cockney accent and a fiance whose a trustbaby to the Bronfman fortune (worth billions).

And again fuck her for acting so neutral about the Tamil Tigers while saying the Sri Lankan government is committing genocide. I doubt that government is anything but innocent and honorable, but let's not forget the Tamil Tigers essentially invented the use of suicide bombers and kidnapped and brainwashed children to serve as soldiers. They literally terrorized that island for over two decades. But hey, their Tiger logo is awesome in that video for "Bird Flu," ain't it? :emotawesomepm9:

I think this video is much, much better:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISHPumshGgA

THATS HOW U NO U GOD WHEN YOU GOTA MODEL AND SHE THROW UP ON YO DICK BECAUSE ITS SO BIG AND YOUR IN A LIMO GOING TO A LIL B CONCERT - Lil B

Well, now I'm reading the video is based off imagery from a 1971 film called Punishment Park.

mentioned here

Geez, I had thought the video itself was ok. I guess this whole thing is officially a rip-off, repackaged for the young and hip worldwide. Hell, I might actually respect Lady Gaga more than M.I.A. after trying to digest all of this bullshit.

the original sounds like if a surf band recorded the singer from devo in the shower and dubbed that over one of their tracks.

edit: yawn @ frankie even the doors were better than this.
