Vinyl is pretty expensive to manufacture and I don't know that Coil sell truckloads.

Yeah, I like the Oldham version, it's nice to know he has a fondness for them. I think I'll get This Immortal Coil, not mad on cover albums but the quality seems good.

Sleaz said Balance was a "total fanboy" for Oldham too so it seems fitting

I really don't think Coil would have a problem selling vinyl, considering other 'underground' experimental acts like nurse with wound pretty much sell out every vinyl they print almost immediately

well they have produced vinyl in the past.. nothing currently in print tho

we should put together a watmm fan based compilation of Coil songs that are proto IDM, like 'homage' or 'dream photography' from unnatural history or 'teenage lightning' from loves secret domain edit: or 'theme from blue II', 'the hills are alive'.

a lot of the time when Coil gets brought up on this forum (an idm forum ) i always try to think of a bunch of songs an aphex or autechre fan would like and come up short.

edit: a way we could get away with this in accordance to the forum rules is to make a mix of it, i would have a lot of fun doing the mix if you guys can think of some good tracks.

It's a good idea. I'll have to have a trawl through the catalog and see what fits the bill.

Funny, I was ready a bunch of stuff the other day and apparently the first time the term "Intelligent Dance Music" was ever used, it was in reference to 'The Snow' from L.S.D.

cool yeah i think the snow definitely fits the bill. thought of 2 more, the opening track 'Gave up'(coil remix) of NIN's Fixed as well as the opening track 'Futher' ('As It Really Is') on Stolen and contaminated songs
