what if boc don't put out another electronic style cd

Recommended Posts

i was thinking about this the other day. i remember reading an interview (not sure which one) a while ago and they said we're learning our music on the guitar/or was it traditional instruments like bass, guitar and drums. they could do it cos both all play those instruments.

like what if they come out with music has, geo and headphase (this just come to mind as well all part of the supposed boxset including old tunes and new stuff, what a fukin surprise that would be awesome.

See Future Sound of London's - Amorphous Androgynous - The Isness for quite how badly that kind of transition can go...

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

i'll have to look into that. all i've heard by fsol is cascade, papua new guinea, and the full lenght papua is on, i bought the cd years ago but forgot the title.

I'm thinking it'd be shit.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Amorphous Androgynous' latest output. Yuk. And that first album was utterly amazing! I sure hope BoC don't go the way of FSOL (although the back catalogue stuff they've put out in the last few years has been interesting).

Fine by me. Headcase wasn't all that interesting after the other two, so what's to say a next electronic album would be any more interesting?

I would enjoy hearing something rock based from these guys. Not saying I would prefer this over an electronic album, just saying it doesn't really matter to me. I won't die as a result of their actions. The worst that could happen is I don't enjoy it.

I think a lot of the BoC sound comes more from the way they record it & the effects they use, rather than the synths themselves. They could probably do an album with traditional instruments & still make it sound like Boards of Canada is they maintained the same studio process.

Once they have mined the veins of their distinct sound, then perhaps. But I think they have plenty of places yet to go and have only scratched the surface of the possibilities of the BOC sound. I think once they reach their zenith and that album comes then they might do a complete u-turn and change direction. A lot of artists have done the same. I actually like it when that happens but I wouldn't want BoC to do it just yet as I think they have so much left to do. I still believe they have an electronic album up their sleeves better than anything they have done before. I really believe that.

So please fellas no folk-thrash metal album just yet LoL.

I think it would be a return to what sounds like when they originally started out making music... in fact, a bit of singing wouldn't hurt either I reckon...

^ I don't think singing and lyrics would be the greatest idea for Boards of Canada, since that sort of contradicts the enigmatic and open-ended purpose of their music. That Sexual Objects single shows how awesome they'd do producing for other bands though.

WHY? - Good Friday remix shows what they're up to next, probs.

yes, the clouddead remix is one of the best songs they made besides the vocals. with the vocals it's still sweet. it's really happy and fun. their next contribution i hope is going to be fun.

If BoC recorded it, even if the music was the backdrop to an hour of recorded diarrhea in the loo of an Edinburgh bar, I'd fuckin' buy it, and I'd fuckin' listen to that shit.

Then you'll love the 3rd interlude track on the album entitled "urinalcake"

Honestly I think almost anything they'd release will be of high quality, the impression I got from them is that they are very reasonable guys but also massive perfectionist, and they're very aware of their output. I didn't like Campfire in the beginning and I'm not into guitars, but after a couple of years I realize it's a different direction but just as good. Yeah personally I'll be disappointed at first when there's a guitar-only album I guess, but I'll end up liking it half a decade later.

I really don't they would release anything as BOC if it wasn't really good or didn't sound like BOC no matter what instruments were used. I would listen to them do a collab with kenny g I don't care as long as they put their stamp on it I'm sure I would love it
