deleting facebook

All anyone needs to know about Facebook is that its a website where you can keep in touch with people. You don't need to love or hate it, it's fine to just make use of it as much as you deem appropriate.

and be aware that your details will be recorded, stored, sold to private companies and shared with government agencies. if that's cool with you, then facebook away!

I justed wanted to say that some day I'll storm into someone's virtual office, make some ridiculous demands and then, virtually, slam the door.

I believe that I've sufficiently shut down the availablity of my Facebook info.

It's not too hard to trim down the privacy sections, but the majority of people never consider it.

I see it as an interesting social experiment. From my observation, it's great at exposing the people you know showing how terribly boring their lives are when they endlessley spout shit like "can't wait until tomorrow" or "oh I saw an amazing tree". But the most important aspect being the amount of messages these people submit. It's fucking horrendous. It should be limited to one status update per day, so better make it good otherwise you fucking wasted all your friends time reading their drivel.

The "like" feature should be coupled with "dislike" and anyone who's unimaginative to state what they had for fucking breakfast should be silenced for a week.

The thing about that graphic is that is based on the DEFAULT SETTINGS. if you're stupid enough not to at least check that shit out then you probably deserve to have your identity stolen... The thing I don't like is that you're automatically opted into any new programs they come up with ie. the new program where they share your data with other sites like pandora.com

Didn't read much of this thread. FB has been great for me so far. I have 2 accounts, 1 to promote trashbear and one for my music. I have had a gig offer and LOADS of remix offers too up to now. And I have met some really nice people through it. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

edit: fucking hell! after I typed that, I checked my music account and I have just been sent a message from a net label in Malta asking for a few tracks to release and they will promote me and book me for some gigs! in MALTA!

I'm pretty fond of Facebook...
