I don't recall advocating being fake. And maybe "game" is the wrong word. But it definitely is a protocol. And you can learn the protocol. There may even be exploits in the protocol.

The PUA I read was fascinating: it was the writing of men, not even very educated, essentially reverse engineering several facets of psychology and biology.

The only tactic I employ that you might find shallow and fake is Mystery's "neg". If someone is being snotty, don't we love taking them down a notch in a non-threatening way? Why should it be any different when interfacing with a pretty girl?

the bit of wisdom i can offer after being very upset for the past few days about stupid shit and getting caught up in anger / feelings of worthlessness / powerlessness in the face of love/sexual attraction:

do not talk about women like they are something special to be talked about and figured out - do not talk about "the game" - do not think about any of it - just be yourself and be natural and love all people - don't worry! it's all about love in the end in my opinion, not buttfucking (though enjoy it when it comes!), so just be yourself and don't worry about trying to attract women. just enjoy life and enjoy yourself. and when you meet someone with that thing in their eye, then think about it and maybe even do something about it!

When I was raised believing in Jeebus our church didn't even want a guy and a girl to hang out alone in case they got on the funny business.. they called it inappropriate. It was so ridiculous. It's exactly like they were implying that every time a girl talks to you alone, expect to get it on. People raised in such fundie environments might have such a f'n hard time of it and not even meaning to be misogynists, they're just completely socially naive
