I love the new tracks! Much better than Filth, which was too hard to swallow for my taste (the sound palette mostly). This one has those nice strings like Frictional Nevada, one of my favorite tracks

So the pigeons are back?

I think they know that they're white now though.

apparently the "album art" is just some fan art that he liked. so i think it's safe to say that at this point he's taking the piss and we know nothing because there's nothing to know. definitely excited for snares 2010 though woo.

this is the great thing about Funk--he's the soul food chef of electronic music; sometimes you run into some gristle, a sharp-ass catfish bone in your throat or pig snout but then you also hit that crispy brown delicious fried chicken and mustard greens too and either way you cut it, he's just like you're favorite soul food spot: always making a shitload of it to pass around without too long of a wait and for a good price too.

(it occurred to me as I typed that, the concept of "soul food" is a little culture bound so, have a heapin' helpin')

oh xxx how you always tickle my brainstrings

that new track sounds like an outtake from My Downfall. By outtake, I mean "not good enough for". The posers one is 10000000x better even worse.

why?

Before I answer that let me state that VSnares is, to me, so fucking good that it's IMPORTANT to me. Like Aphex and very few other things.

Having said that, both these tracks feel like he's going through the motions. Or like fucking Acrnym or I Broke My Robot or someshit aping his style. All the elements are there but they're just... tacked on. My So-called Life has a couple of more flavorful moments, he's trying out one or two things he hasn't before on that one, but Posers & Camera Phones is just... abysmal. Even without any frame of reference or comparison to earlier works... that shitty harpsichord riff, the Detrimentalist-outtakes breaks, the fact that it misses like 3 fucking great moments to go full on and it reverts back to just that shitty riff (especially after that gnarly bass drop which promised so much more).

I'm one of the people who loved, and, more importantly, got Filth. That one didn't seem to get much love, and for the life of me I couldn't understand why. I've been on him since Doll Doll Doll drooling over every release. I think the only thing of his that is not instant aural sweatpants boner to me is that flick he did with phantomsmasher and... these two.

i am... dissapoint?

juss sayin

i get that it's different, and it maybe seems a little more straightforward than some of his previous stuff, but that drum solo towards the end of my so-called life blew my brains out.

I got Filth too.

Seriously though, it's my favorite album of his.

filth is fantastic as well

doll doll doll, filth, cavalcade, making orange things

don't like his more bullshit music anymore - huge chrome box, songs about my cats

really love the early hardcore

i also have been completely unable to enjoy Rossz Csillag

edit: listening to it now though and i like it more than before

Songs About My Cats is everything I could ever want considering I love cats and find it to be humorous as well as interesting. Huge Chrome Cylinder Box, I felt, was one of his more serious works.

i used to love huge chrome cylinder box, i don't know after a while making music i kind of got turned off to it because a great deal of it sounds random, not really beats more like sequences of short percussive tones in different orders, still a classic

songs about my cats - i don't know i've always just thought that one was terrible

Guest bitroast

i find the beats on huge chrome way too lame and harsh. otherwise it's pretty sweet. but yeah, i think the beats let it down (imo imo imo).

recent vsnares is an odd thing. i used to fucken hate pink and green. then one day i loved it, so who knows. the latest song is enjoyable too, despite being nothing new or anything as far as vsnares songs go.

i still don't know what the second pigeon album is :P
