The Hobbit loses Guillermo Del Toro

Recommended Posts

well, let me find a middle ground in saying actually following his lotr approach (in terms of planning/time/thoughtfulness) would have made huge improvements over the current hobbit trilogy.

i'm not invested enough to have an idea about whether or not another approach would have been even better. i haven't read the hobbit, so my point of reference is limited.

Ye. The tiny mention of no time and bad managed project is not surprising. Lotr is great deal better than hobbit films.

Not surprising. Always figured was more to do with them stretching out what shoulde been 1 film into 3 films. Would be real interesting to see a super nonglamourised doco on the films.

I don't think having much more time to prepare would've made much of a difference though, I think his whole approach to the project was flawed.

oh! scrap what i wrote about wanting a doco. missed this video and it is pretty much kind of hitting that spot anyway
