bolded the mixer :)

but yeah -- channels are a valued commodity. i had a giant soundcraft board for a bit, but it was so big i couldn't reach everything easily. so, i sold it, and went back to my yamaha. to help out, i also have a 4x4 matrix switcher. there's a bunch of stuff like that i didn't bother to list, along with lots of casios, novelty music widgets, tape recorders and minidiscs, shitty mics, turntables, guitars and an amp i don't use etc

Why you don't like automap? I understand that it's useless in live use. But in studio use it's really fun to just open a plugin and see parameters names and values on Remote's screen. Of course It's just for simple plugins, definetly not for fm8 or arturia moog modular. But i like it to control v-station or something like this.

Automap is great for small plugins, but I don't really use alot of small plugins, so I mostly just use automap as a nice graphical way to assign controls :P

But I am still seriously in the dark about the Remote 25SL's midi ports, which ones receive and transmit, which ones use automap, why sometimes the transport controls stop working on my automap templates... etc. arg midi

Alot of people here own Elektron and analog roland pieces. That's awesome / I'm jealous

maybe if i have effort later I will make a little spreadsheet showing what equipment is most popular.

If you want to do your own manual assignments that include the mod wheel you have to build a preset from scratch and assign all the CCs manually. It's a bitch.

Not rich, just having a full time job for twelve years and not being married. ;)

Yes. Having a good job and having no significant other does make a big difference. Also not drinking also saves lots of cash.

But more importantly, what did you pay (and what year) for your super jupiter Rbrmyofr? You got the controller or software edit? I had an mks-50 for a few days but the thing was all kinds of messed up, and did not seem to like being programmed via software. Anyway, it seems like a viable option to just go all out and get the super, because I have no interest in paying 5=6k for a jupiter 8. Even though they don't sound exactly the same, it's good enough for rockin'

I have other bits and pieces but 99% of the time this is what I'm actually using:

PMC TB2 Monitors, Flying Mole Amps

Sennheiser HD 580 Headphones

Macbook with additional external display, keyboard and mouse

Logic 8

Firewire 410 (does the job but urggh)

Nano Patch passive volume control

Yamaha DX100

One day I'd like to upgrade my audio interface and swap the noisy macbook for a nice silent Mac Mini.

I got mine for a thousand Euro without a controller. It's a REV4. I wired together a controller using the Logic environment which works fine (it responds to normal sysex messages).

(edit: I got it last year)

Yeah that sounds about right. You use it often? I was certainly made aware that the mks-50 sounded OKAY by itself but with a little added external fx it was quite lush and full sounding, but a bit thin by itself. Unfortunately every time I put it into poly mode the thing locked up so i didn't really get to play any pads, which is kind of the strong arm of those things.
