not sometimes. a gathering of crows IS a murder, like a gathering of lions is a pride or a gathering of seaguls is a flock. a murder of crows is a bunch of crows together. hence the lol.

Crows are awesome. The intelligence of the crow is clearly threatening to puny humans, hence puny human attempts to villanize the crow via collective nouns.
