Solid release...I love the first track and the last two... the remix of the Rosz Allat track is beautiful. But after all - just some more weird Snares tracks, nothing too fancy.

Check my dusty tunes and mixes over here: https://soundcloud.com/2kn

I really liked this release, not quite as strong as My Downfall, but certainly worth my £7.50.

I also wondered if anyone has any ideas on what the lines in 'welfare wednesday' are, I've gotten this far:

(the square brackets are the ones I don't know for sure.)

(add 'in your poonani' to the end of each line)

making a lasagna

impressive moustaches

mike paradinas

intellivision basketball

he-man and skeletor

[browsing lots of records?]

undergoing plastic surgery

pretending I'm from london

[... exclusive footwear?]

[... groceries?]

grilling a panini

[lucky co express?]

[???]

welfare wednesday

selling crystal meth

i wanna cash my cheque

wearing leather jackets

driving my car

welfare wednesday

[formie an langsei?]

i want to put orange juice

egg salad sandwiches

hotdogs and french fries

chef boyardee

so i put on the first track (no doubt an ode to his target audience) and am immediately greeted with a three-digit SAT score melody, which drones until we get some patented beatwork on a new and exciting drum beat. then a ragga sample, i would conjecture. then...

I FUCKING HATE YOU. TAKE YOUR DRAWERS DOWN AND RAPE YOU

then an eclectic combination of all of the aforementioned elements cometh, before we get the harmony/other-part with the bass, flexing around before we get more samples of BLACK PEOPLE intertwined with "I FUCKING HATE YOU"

and on the second track the release after the... 2nd breakdown roughly 2:40+ into the drumwork really really reminds me of squarepusher's eviscerate.

i will soldier through the rest of this for the good of humanity, no doubt.

The drums on Ultraviolent Junglist are ridiculously good.

alright, king cobra 40 in tow i have indeed soldiered through this release here. my original points still stand. the two neo-prodigy cuts, who wants cake? and especially welfare wednesday are enjoyable because, as i've long believed, snares is best when he's parodying himself. the former track features sporadic interjections of a sample of someone saying "retarded" as if this track were a moment of clarity for snares. although, having seen him live i'm pretty sure he's cognizant of who he is and who his fanbase is and what his position in the grand scheme of things is. and he's a really nice guy too, i must confess.

the worst part of welfare wednesday is the constant "in your poonani" thing, cuz while i love clowning on old prodigy songs i still can't get into juvenile shock lyrics for the sake of attracting new fans who still shop at hot topic. i get what he's doing and why he's doing it, but still, if this guy had his financials set up for life i reckon he could be pretty good.

as it's been said 50 times in this thread by now, the last track is probably the best one. it suffers from green hill path syndrome of taking forever to get to the point, but you can tell it's the one track he really tried on.

at this point, if you put on a venetian snares album with some inclination that you're going to hear something new and exciting then you're an idiot. venetian snares delivers the goods akin to mcdonalds or cheap beer.

I wonder how, since no carrier is a quite new member here, he got a ceephax subforum meme reference in his avatar, something that hasn't really been mentioned for some time as far as I know

And that he kinda types in vamos/happycase style, but without the quirks

And seeing how much he dislikes Snares...

he's obviously a Joy Rex dupe

Also, new album is so-so. Nothing too serious. Nothing too grand. Just sliiightly better then I expected. Album feels like a compilation of tracks. I Hope his next one has more of a concept again. (with a bit more effort put in it)

Totally a Ragga sample.

The vocals are Steve Edwards.

I think the point you made at the end of your second post is entirely true. I must say though, sometimes I really want some fucking McDonald's.

Nothing exists for Langslide.

It's Furby and Langside - street names/district in Winnipeg:

Nice find.

The main "problem" or thing I can't figure out is who is actually saying it, because even sped up, it sure as hell isn't Aaron.

Also, it's "Helen Grocery, in your punani" for that one. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=helen+grocery+winnipeg&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=728ef3750cf3a29c
