how clichéd is the glitchy/stutter/IDM sound these days

What I meant by relevant is that I still thought it was going to keep evolving and going somewhere interesting, now I mostly listen to scratch an old itch, for nostalgia, even if it's new stuff. Anyway I know there are probably people out there pushing the envelope, but I'm old and lazy and feed me some grapes and wine I have grown unable to lift my arms.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

I think there was a shift in production a few years ago from beat heavy to synth heavy. At least in most of the stuff I listen to these days, the drums take a back seat to the morphing synth sounds.

I enjoy the glitched out sound of repeating a snare or hihat super fast, but it sounds pretty dated at this point. It has to be used in a more tasteful way in order to not sound like the mid 2000s.

Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Embarrassing. Shove your privilege.

nah, bit meddler had a few releases on planet mu in the early 2000s before his computer exploded and lost all his tracks (or something like that). think i read somewhere that he's a graphic designer now

edit: sorry, I see you're referring to the remix. I was referring to the original song my mistake.

it's cool, i've been meaning to check out tipper for a while now, i didnt even know the original was partly him

I'd say start at "Relish the Trough", good old school tech-house, big bass/beats etc.

His production is top notch, he sometimes ventures into main-streamy sounding stuff but overall he's a great producer.
