essines
not gonna try embed that but it's a really entertaining speech about how robinson feels that public education, was developed, essentially, in the 19th century to mould people into good industrial workers. i feel he makes a good point; we should embrace peoples talents as they are rather than forcing them to "use their head, slightly to one side". check it out, y0! They lose out on learning how to socially interact with others. Which is something that needs to be enhanced. Schooling definitely needs an overhaul: universities used to be places where you learned how to think critically and apply yourself to problems, more and more they are being seen as degree mills. A lot of schools have responded to this by offering inter-disciplinary degrees that combine arts and sciences. Still, school only beats creativity out of you if you let it. (oh and by the way, graduating from high school is NOT necessary for going to post-secondary education).
