OMG TOMORROW

it's a good album, i would say better than Autoimmune but still too many dubstep tracks not to be repetitive. noticeably more bass this time and more use of modular rhythms. a nice full length and definitely stoney, like others said the videos are pretty meh and remind me of the live show.

i thought he had said there was supposed to be a video for each track.

and bass test isnt on the album

thank god bass test isn't on the album. that just about destroyed all my anticipation for this.

well i'll check it out

What the shit is this? Went to two local independent shops after work, both told me release was pushed back to Oct. 26?! No news of this on MBM's site or official Facebook, and Amazon also still says Oct. 12. What a fucking bummer! When I went in to the first one, I was upset but honestly not surprised it wasn't in stock. Then I figured I'd ask, just in case they hadn't put it out on the shelves yet (it not being hip & cool and all that), and that's when he told me Oct. 26.

Seriously what the fuck?

I could have it overnighted by Amazon based on the release date they're showing.

digital is out oct 12, physical oct 14, and i think that may have been pushed back

October 14 makes no sense for the US. Physical releases come out on Tuesdays in the US. Thing is, MBM's site still says Oct. 12, without specifying digital. Amazon says Oct. 12 for the CD, and many Amazon Marketplace retailers have it listed as available.

this one is definitely a grower, like RUOK. some of the sequences are pretty repetitive, but in the right frame of mind it's a good mind trip. i hear a lot of Scorn and Burial on this album.

i was feeling the sound samples, then picked up the physical today (so it's out there) and it just fell flat on it's face. like the entire record minus "Please" sounds exactly the same. just like slow dubstep LFO stuff and that's it. i mean i'll spin it again of course but that first one was very homogenous. Jack, i was counting on you.

and label me a hater but really, take a look back at Satyricon, Subliminal Sandwich and Actual Sounds & Voices and tell me where the magic is. those albums were great straight away. last 3 records have been uninspired at best.

Yeah I picked up the physical copy today...two other record stores were full of shit, just didn't get their orders in on time methinks. Anyway, I kind of agree that it's much slower and less interesting than I expected it to be. Hopefully it grows on me with more listens. Plus that one track that I posted a video of that had all the samples...as mentioned is not on here, or maybe it is but without the samples. I want more samples and vocals. It was a nice surprise to hear vocals on Autoimmune (not the guest ones), sad to see them mostly absent here.

Anyway my first listen was mostly passive as I was preparing dinner. Next will likely be a headphone listen while commuting or at work.

its not bad. not very good either.

i think he's lost his touch a few albums ago.

still, early albums are undeniably genius and overall underrated.

There are some moments on there, like i said "Please". i'm feeling it a bit more now that i'm not in my car and all the bass isn't blotted out by the road. we'll see. hope it gets better.
